Would riding a bike, or running cross country prepare you more to be a sprinter?

I already lift weights, but I can't go everyday. Is it better to run cross cross country in my time off, or ride my bike?

I prefer to run 100-400 meter dashes when track season gets here.

Answer
Do you mean to run distances or to compete in cross country?
I would not compete in cross country, but you should run easy distances of 3 miles or so 3 days per week during the off season.
You should also do plyometrics and 100 meter strides twice each week, to keep your body used to running fast.
if you only do distance work your stride changes because you are not running with the same stride length. Riding a bike on your off or easy days, is good too.

Would it be bad to bike ride 65 miles the week before cross country districts?

I usually bike ride 30 miles no problem on the weekend (I've never done more than that) and tomorrow I would like to do a metric century ride. Would that be a bad idea the week before cross country districts?I don't want to be too sore for districts or anything like that.

Answer
You shouldn't have any problem just ride at a little slower pace then normal. A week is more then enough to recover.
