hybrid bikes made in usa image

Does anyone know those really light, silver colored bicycles that people ride with around East Asia? I can't find a picture but if you watch the video i linked, it's the ones at 1:12. It's hard to see but if you've been to East Asia you probably know what I mean. Do you know where I can get these in the states? Preferably the LA area
Or if anyone knows any american made bicycle like these that would be nice. Something very very standard, no need for gears and whatnot. Just something I can ride in college.

The bamboo forest just before that was awesome!
It looks like just your basic old city bike, sorta. What we call "comfort" bikes today are a little different from those, but similar...at one time we were calling them "hybrids" or "utility" or "commuters" and now each is a separate category. lol. Over the last few years as those types of bikes have gotten more popular, you'll see them called "cafe" or "urban living" or "lifestyle" bikes on various manufacturers' websites if you browse around a bit. You can get them in single speed or geared versions, your choice. Most bike shops will probably have something in stock or can order it for you (this time of year is sometimes a little hard to get things ordered, though). That's what those look like to me, but it was hard to tell, and of course they're outfitted with baskets, which you can do easily (lots of variety to choose from, and the option of racks/panniers/bags as well).
You might be able to find something like this on craigslist, too, but you'd want to be sure it was in decent condition and not a hidden junker.

You'll notice none of those are American Made.....that is exceedingly hard to find these days, and I'm not aware of any truly American bike manufacturers that make a bike like you want. In fact, unless it's changed recently, there are only two makers here who are 100% American made and sourced and they're both smaller, expensive companies.
