Answer
This is a tricky one for your particular bike. The first thing you need to ask yourself is "why do I want to replace the crankset?". If it's to replace damaged parts - I'd just get OEM replacements. If your chainrings are worn, just replace these.

Here's why:
1. Your bike is spec'd with a Bontrager select triple (52/42/30). This uses a 113mm ISIS bottom bracket. If you wanted to upgrade - you'd need to find a crankset that still uses an ISIS bottom bracket.
2. If you decide to go with a Shimano Hollowtech crankset (105/Ultegra/DA), you'd need to also buy new bottom bracket cups. You can buy any of these in a triple chainring.
3. Your bike is a 9-speed. Any new crankset you'll buy (like the Shimano Hollowtech) is going to be 10-speed. You can probably make it work, but it's not going to shift as nicely as what you currently have.
4. You can upgrade your entire drivetrain to 10-speed, but at that point, you may as well buy a new bike.

Bottom line - the best crankset for your 2006 lemond reno is the one it came with. If you really want to 'upgrade', you may be able to find some nice 9-speed triple cranksets on ebay.

Answer
anywhere that you have permission except for on the road. pocket bikes are not street legal. if you were riding on the road and you got caught, you could get a ticket for no registration and possible for riding on a roadway with no motorcycle license.
