I'm thinking of buying a 29er bike and having two sets of rims since I understand that 29er rims are the same diameter of a 700C road rim...ie. one for road and one for dirt. Opinions?
Answer
You will need two sets of 29" rims, 700c rims while they are basically the same diameter they are not the same as 29" mtn bike rims. Over all view of 29" mtn bikes, they don't accelerate as fast as a 26", but once at speed roll fast and ride smoother over obstacles. An other issue is if you are a short rider, 29" bikes have a higher stand over height.

i m 5.10 so just for road biking (as i like mtb hardtail) should i go with 29ers or should i keep my 26 inch bike ..
Answer
If you want a bike for the road get a road bike they are a lot faster and more fun then any mountain bike. A fat bar fitness hybrid would even work and you can ride them on rail trails.
