Me and my two friends are planning on taking a weekend trip from Philly to LA. But we need some help on where is the best place to stay but is still a reasonable budget. We are new to traveling this far and any help or pointers would really help. Thanks!

It's kind of a waste-- it's a six hour flight from Philly to LA without the two hours it takes to check in and the hour it'll take to get your luggage at LAX and drive to a hotel. On top of that, LA is not cheap in terms of hotels. If I were you, I'd find some place closer to do a weekend trip and save LA for when you can spend more time since everything in LA is so spread out and you need to plan on drive times.
However, if you really want to do this, I suggest staying at the Foghorn Inn in Marina del Rey.

For the price, you can't beat the area or the accomodations. You are literally on the beach in the Marina where there is a great swimming/lay out beach with BBQs and all that. You can walk to Venice Beach to shop, dine, check out the sights, and you are also walking distance to a ton of good restaurants in Marina del Rey, Chace Park, more shopping in that direction, and the bike/rollerblading path. It's a short cab ride to Santa Monica and Hollywood where you can spend the day.
The area is clean, safe to walk around in, and there's a lot you can do without needing to take a cab or rent a car. You're also fairly close to LAX so you won't waste a ton of time in traffic from the airport to your hotel.
I've lived in LA for a long time and used to live in Marina del Rey.

Culture of Philadelphia vs. Denver?

Ma Cky
Hey Everyone,
I have lived in the Philadelphia area my entire life (24 years) and I will be soon moving out to Denver, Colorado for work. I was wondering if anyone has lived in both places and could shed some light on the similarities and differences between them. I was mostly wondering about the people and things to do. I understand that Denver is a very active city and hopefully slightly friendlier than Philadelphia haha wishful thinking? Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

I have only been to Philly once. We asked a cab driver to take us to Betsy Ross's house and he said the previous administration shut all those places down???
Denver is a big overgrown cow-town with a veneer of class. Natives and long time residents are friendlier. Many of the recent flatlanders are not. They bring their odd ideas but there is still a lot of the real Denver left. Witness the National Western Stock Show and the Capitol Hill People's Fair held the first week in June.

Denver also has a strong outdoors culture with bike and hiking paths and trails galore. We are close to the Rocky Mountains with all sorts of outdoor activities you can take part in. Also good dog parks. Adopt a dog from one of the local shelters and start walking. You will meet all kinds of nice people. MeetUp is another good way to find people with similar interests.
