Is there an underground bike path in America?

M

Like a bike path in a tunnel built underground. I remember hearing about one going under a harbor on the East Coast. Is there anything like this? TIA!

Answer
I didn't find anything in the rest of the Americas, but in the U.S. there are these:
* Tunnel Hill in Illinois http://illinois.sierraclub.org/shawnee/sites/s-tunnel_hill_bike_trail.htm
* A bunch of underpasses, probably in California http://daviswiki.org/Bike_Tunnels
* Pike2Bike in Pennsylvania, a planned bike route http://www.pike2bike.org/
* Elroy-Sparta three tunnel trail in western Wisconsin http://www.elroy-sparta-trail.com/
* Stewart Train Tunnel on the Badger State Trail near Monticello, Wisconsin http://www.badger-trail.com/

There are probably quite a few more. I stopped after the first few I found.

usa need covered bike path?

hey_stupid

for transporation, work close to home; yes or no?

Answer
I don't think it would serve to substantially boost the number of people riding bikes, so it doesn't seem cost effective.

But the U.S. does need more Class I bike paths. Having a safe and secure path to get to work or school would truly encourage people to cycle more often.
