I am looking for a decent street under $2000, not very much street bike experience but plenty off road dirtbike experience with big bikes so I can handle a bigger bike. What would be my best bet? I was thinking of a CBR 600 or a GSXR 600 or something like that.
Answer
Welll with all that riding experience under your belt -even if it is offroad- a 600 pwer plant is certainly within your capability of handling. However unless you are in the market for a very very used or abused bike, you will never find antying real good and of recent manufacture at 2000 price point...All teh Japanese majors make bikes in that power range of high quality but they are quite a bit more thatn your budget will allow for....They are all top notch/high quality and they all go fast...So up your ante a little and enjoy any model you choose.

What's a good modern steel road bike?

Nick
I'm looking for a modern steel road bike. I've learned that some popular namebrand bikes are aluminum Cannondales, carbon Cervelos, and titanium Litespeeds.
What about steel? There are none at my LBS to test out, and the ones most people ride are too old. If I were to buy a new steel bike, What are trustworthy quality steel bike models/brands that I should be looking out for? Preferably under $2000.
