hybrid bike 19 frame image

I'm 6'2" and 280-290. I'm trying to get a bike for cheap off of craigslist but i don't know what size of bike i need.
Answer
1) You never stated what type or style of bike you're looking for. Mountain bikes, hybrids (usually) and comfort bikes are measured in inches - 2" increments usually. 15", 17", 19" 21", etc. Road bikes & some performance hybrids are measured in centimeters - 2cm increments. So sizing on a road bike is MUCH more critical. Smaller gap between sizes.
2) Know what you're looking for & at on craigslist. Good place to get ripped off. Look for bikes that came from a REAL bicycle shop. Discount store bikes come in one generic frame size - too small for a person 6'2" tall. A Raleigh, Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, Giant, Fuji, etc.
3) TRY B4 you BUY. Take it out for an extensive test ride before handing over the cash. Make sure the wheels turn true. Grab hold of a crank arm. Wiggle it to see if there is any side-to-side or up & down play in it. If so - run away. Make sure it shifts all gears properly & stops nice with no brake squeal.
4) Approximately a 21" or 22" frame size for a mountain bike. Same for a hybrid. Road bikes are a bit more tricky depending on your own leg length & torso length. Could be anywhere from a 58cm to a 60cm. Plus or minus that even. Not every company measures bikes the same way.

Who makes the best hybrid bike in the $500-600 range?

I would like to buy a hybrid (dual sport) bicycle. I am currently looking at a Trek DS 8.3 and a Giant Roam. Any suggestions? Pros/Cons of each or please recommend another brand. Also, I live in Phoenix and this will be used for road and canal riding. Im also gonna put a rack and panniers on this for commuting. No trails as I have a full suspension bike for that. Thanks for reading.
I do appreciate the answers thus far, but none have answered my original question. Regardless of what people think I should buy, I am going to buy a bike with front suspension. I have an older rigid frame bike that I've ridden for years and I know what I want to buy now. This question is about hybrids.
Answer
For the conditions you're describing, I don't think suspension forks are needed. Therefore...

Sized in centimeters, like a road bike. Not 15", 17", 19", etc., like most other hybrids. Light frame too.
