Hey I am looking to buy a moped or scooter

I want a 150 cc, but I don't know what the costs/registration and Insurance are for it, if any. If there is any way to go around insurance and registration in Utah, I'd like to know what it is , but if not, what is the costs for a 150 cc, and if I get a 50cc is there any way around paying all that ? and I'd like just general info on scooters since I know nothing about it like good brands prices to pay gas mileage cc's all that, miles, etc. So please help!

Answer
Call DMV first...here in CA I choose an electric 1500 cc for the reason that my DL was taken after I was hit and had brain damage to sever to drive (that's Doc, after 3 years I got them back though) So because I could go gas the laws all require a DL I chose this only requirement a DOT regulation helmet ride in bike lane but follow car laws.

Utah is very similar

Answer
You are a very good thinker to resolve your problem in this way. Do others use these on the bike path? You might want to get out there and ask a few questions of path users to see how they would react to it, but as a kid with a need you can probably get away with it. Often it's only selfish people who would object and you might have to justify yourself to them. Where this is a community trail, you need to get along with the community and be a part of it.

Kids ride them everywhere around here, on streets and sidewalks even though it's illegal because we have very few bike paths and they seldom take people where they need to go. Generally motor vehicles are considered things you need a license to operate.

Also check the specs on the machine to see if it will sustain power for the distances you need to go & recharge requirements and how long it would last under heavy use.
