Nothing....Seriously, besides the beach and boardwalk there is nothing left to do in Ocean City. It is a dry town (no liquire served on the island) You can: rent a bike...shop off the board walk...Forget a movie unless you venture off the island. Ocean city is a fun place for small kids..You can enjoy the rides and waterpark.
Make sure to pick up a slice at Mac and Manco's pizza, Kors custard is the best....or you can pick up a tub of Johnson's popcorn.

The Time of My Life
The relaxing beach. The playful boardwalk. The wonderful memories. I think of these things as I drive to Ocean City, NJ. The excitement builds up inside me. I can smell the salty air drift up my nose, feel the gritty sand rub between my toes, and taste the cheesy pizza please my taste buds. For most, this would be a regular beach vacation. But not for me, Ocean City is a part of my life.
The beautiful beach is a huge part of Ocean City and has made up a big part of my childhood life. The times I have spent with my family on the hot summer beach have been some of the best times of my life. When I swim in the crisp ocean, blue and salty, on those hot summer days it feels so nice. The feeling you get when you plunge under each wave feeling the water splash against your face just makes my day. The bright sun rays beating down on my back as I build our whiffle ball field gives me that tan look. Ah, all the whiffle ball games my family and I have played together. When I smack a ball over 2nd base the bat makes a âca-chingâ sound; I love that sound. The feeling of my feet digging into the gritty sand as I try to beat my cousin to first base is great. I always love winning, but the sadness you get from losing the game is devastating. But after the delicious ham and cheese sandwiches everything is better. I love chasing around the white birds that try to steal our food. Boy do I love those beach days!
The beach is not the only reason I love Ocean City, there is also the boardwalk. I stumble onto the worn down boardwalk. Itâs a humid dry night. I love the view of the mixed blues called the ocean form waves and topple on one another. I can smell the buttery popcorn, the cheesy pizza, and the sweet ice cream fill my nose. The boardwalk is filled with so much to do. The rides, the restaurants, and the shops just make it such a good time. The rides are filled with so much excitement. The thrill you get from being shot into the air by a giant tower called âDouble Shotâ is incredible. The sensation of being flipped upside down on a roller coaster is awesome. Then there are the restaurants. I love Delâs creamy clam chowder, or Mack and Mancosâs delicious cheese pizza. They both make my stomach smile. There is also the tangy cotton candy polish water ice that makes my tongue cry. Even better than the food are the shops. Walking into a store I love to see all the different sweatshirts lined up neatly along the shop walls, or hear the sound of kids âclackingâ there brand new bought clackers. During the school year I save up my money for this time, and most of it goes towards the shops. The boardwalk is a major piece of Ocean City, and without it would not be the same. Itâs like the Earth without the Sun.
And like the Earth needs the sun, Iâm a son who needs his family. I cherish my time with my family, especially in Ocean City. The memories we share are like a never-ending book. We look forward to this vacation all year. It will be 20 degrees outside with snow drifting to the ground and we, my cousins and I, will already be planning our next Ocean City vacation. The memories we share we will never forget. Itâs like a tattoo on an arm; itâs there forever. I can remember the time in Ocean City where it was a dark day out. Clouds were bleached black and lightning was skipping from cloud to cloud. We were coming back from a tiring day of bike riding. Feet dragging, we walked up to our beach house and turned the doorknob. It didnât move. Of course on this snow-hailing day we were stuck outside. My uncle Paul came to our rescue and climbed a ladder to open our porch door. We were saved. This is one page in our book of memories. My cousins and I share so many inside jokes. The hot spot, the lonely sandwich, or even âMmmmmm Brains.â They always give us a chuckle. I canât explain how much I enjoy my Ocean City vacations with my family, but lets just say without life would not be the same.
The relaxing beach. The playful boardwalk. The wonderful memories. I think of these things as I drive away from Ocean City. I think about the things I will miss. The sun beating on my back, the good times with my cousins, and the screaming children on rides. I canât live without Ocean City. I remember crawling the Ocean City beach as a toddler, and I hope I continue to go there even when Iâm rolling in a wheel chair.
