Someone suggested that I'd check out BikeTrader.com, and so I'm on the site, but there's a plethora of road bike types that I have no idea where to start.
I don't need a racer or pro-bike, I'm just looking for something for a daily commute - nothing slow, though.
I want something somewhat fast that can take me to school and work (all of which are no more than 5 miles from my house).
It's also going to have to endure rain, etc. since I live in Miami.
There's some local stores near my house, so I'll give them a check. I'm looking to pay no more than $900 for a quality road bike - no flamboyant graphics, nothing flashy.
I want a cool road bike like the ones that they ride in Williamsburg Brooklyn, Seattle, etc.
All help is appreciated!
Thanks,
E.S.

I tried a Torker InterUrban which is a good commuting road bike:

I also got a KHS Urban-X which comes equipped with fenders for rain, and comes with its own rear rack for carrying:

I'm not very knowledgeable about components etc and wanted to know if this is a good intermediate road bike and a decent price? thanks!

The bike specs look good. The frame size is what worries me. How tall are you? It's a 64cm frame. You will need to be 6' 4" tall or more. Sizing link below...
