what are some good pitbikes for the trails and are there any two stroke pitbikes?

Answer
Yes they do make Chinese 2-stroke mini-bike/pit bikes.

I would not recommend a Chinese 2-stroke mini-bike. I would recommend the 70cc to 125cc 4-strokes. I own two of these and they work and ride good. The 2-stroke is going to be working a lot harder than a 4-stroke and I just don't see the Chinese 2-stroke lasting more than a year or two.

1972 Honda Mini Trail Z50A Bore?

Jason

So i have a 1972 Honda Mini Trail Z50A and i was wondering, if you upgrade the bore to a bigger, or smaller size, will it make a difference in speed? My Mini Trail is a 49cc so im guessing the bore is the same. I was on the parts website when i came across a 110cc bore kit and was wondering if it really makes that much of a difference. Though feeling stupid asking this question, i just have to know so help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the link to where the 110cc bore kit is (scroll down just a little to find it)

Thank you for your time and have a nice day.
Woops. Correction. The bore set i was looking at isn't 110cc. Its actually 160cc.

Answer
im not so sure that bore kit will work for you.honda did use pretty much the same lower end and transmission for its trail bike series,as well as the 70,90,110 and i think they made like a 120 or 125cc 3 wheeler.usually they had a hi/lo range lever under the front sprocket.its basically the same transmission still in use on a lot of knockoff brand bikes.some had the high low, some didnt.it was very common in my teen days to mix n match bore kits.ive even modified a briggs engine to run a piston for a honda.
i dont remember, but im thinking your transmission is smaller than the others.maybe its the 50 and 70,or maybe im real wrong.even with the bore kit, youll only get to around 40-45 mph.its just to low geared, but itll go anywhere including the trunk of a car and is very troublefree and somewhat of a collectors item.they start around $600 and go up from there.ive had many many trail series bikes and 3 wheelers over the yrs.
