I am looking to get a lighter, faster bike to get to school with because I ride about 22 miles total to get there and back but I have also always wanted to get into racing. I know the price for a 1st road bike is around 1k but from there I am lost. Do i need to join a club or just look up events? Any website would be great. I live in California.

Join a local club first. If you can't beat the locals first, you won't win a race.

What is the best road bike tire?
Q. Word. What is the best road bike tired for racing, commuting, and traveling multiple cities. Currently I use Continental Gatorskin's and they worked well because they are puncture proof. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Answer
The best for racing is not the best for commuting. The best racing tires are soft and very light making them poor for commuting as they wear fast and puncture easier.
