what will make me look like a good biker?

Q. i'm in middle school, and our class is going to a bike path for a feild trip. see, the problem is, my boyfriend will be there, and he is an amazing biker. he has one of the best bikes in the world. sooo... what i need is a list of good qualities in a bike for a bike path so that i look like i have a nice bike. so please list things that make a bike path bike look "nice". (examples: clip in shoes vs no clip in shoes, or this company vs that, etc)

Answer
To look or be a good biker is not about flash or bling. Want to look good work on these two things.
1) Can you ride a bike without wobbling all over the place?
2) Is your bike in good condition, does it work well with out squeaks or chain noise? Does it shift well?

It doesn't matter how fancy or impressive the bike is if you can't ride it well and it doesn't work correctly.

Beginner bike rider, some questions?

ain't 1st

My grandpa gave me his old 84 Suzuki ts185er and I am still new to the clutch and everything so if you could answer a few questions, I haven't ridden the bike yet and I know that I'm not going to learn over the internet but yeah.
1. When you shift up, do you need to pull in the clutch?
2. When you stop (like at a stop sign if your riding on the road) do you need to put it into neutral?
3. How hard is it to make the bike road legal? (It already has light, turn signals, mirror, all that stuff)
4. How old do you have to be to ride on the road? 16 right?

Answer
You should use the clutch every time you shift. You can always force it, but you will do damage over the long term. So why do it that way?
When you stop at a stop sign, you should be in 1st gear with the clutch held in. If a car coming up behind you does not stop, you can just release the clutch and pull to the side. If you have the bike in neutral and see the situation happening in your rear view mirror, by the time you get back into gear to move, you will already be dead. Once you stop you should be looking in your rear view mirror to see what's happening behind you. Once 2 or 3 cars have stopped behind you, you can relax and look around. You also should either stop with your bike on one side or the other of the lane you are in, depending on where the clearest path ahead is.
The people who suggested the Motorcycle Safety Course are RIGHT ON! Sign up for it! You don't even need a bike or a helmet. (They provide them for the class) You just need gloves, boots or high leather shoes for ankle protection, and a willingness to learn.
Motorcycle riding is a blast, It's even more fun if you have had the training and are aware of your surroundings. Practice around your neighborhood, and HAVE FUN!
