bike frame size?

Mark M

I am 5"3. Is an 18 inch frame size a perfect size for my height? Thank you

Answer
If your talking MTB and you want to do some hard trail riding you should be on a 15" frame max. If you're still growing maybe a 16" so it'll last your a while. If your using it for general street riding a little bigger is OK but an 18" is too big for you now. I'm 5-10 and ride a 17.5 as do most XC riders I know at my height.

If your talking hybrid bike it would be close.

will this bike be ok for my size? and is it any good?

thank you

Answer
A) Bike comes in only ONE (18") frame size - too small for someone 6' tall.
B) It's JUNK! You don't want or need full suspension unless you'll be traveling strictly off-road.
C) Really good full suspension bikes cost THOUSANDS - not £155.00.
D) Even if you did fit on the bike, it uses really crappy & outdated components...like singe wall rims vs. better (stronger) double wall rims. Also uses an antiquated "freewheel hub" vs. a stronger "freehub & cassette".
http://sheldonbrown.com/free-k7.html In short...the bike simply won't take the weight of a full grown man. It's designed for growing kids & teens.

If you'll be traveling mostly on paved surfaces or even trails of finely crushed stone, you don't NEED suspension parts at all. Look for a bike with NO suspension parts at all. This would be a MUCH better choice. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Raleigh-Strada-Gents-Traditional-Hybrid/dp/B00GDG5P8C/ref=sr_1_21?s=cycling&ie=UTF8&qid=1391122248&sr=1-21

And only £15 more through an authorized dealer - assembled, tuned-up, ready to go and with a local WARRANTY!
