I'm picking up my bikes tomorrow, I have four dogs, I'm looking to start biking with them- 2 to a bike. They have all been through training, etc but i'm worried about a few things
For one- I didn't buy a walkie-dog or whatever because i'm looking to run two dogs a bike (they are all under 20 lbs) and I can't seem to find one for two dogs, If I put one on each side they would be in traffic, although I am riding in the country... does anyone use one with two dogs?
For two- My youngest is only about 10 months old, is it true this can be bad for him? Should I hold off for a while with him and just take the older guys?
Also since I am new to this- any tips/suggestions from some more experienced people?
Anyone who bikes without the attachment? I really don't want them to get hurt in anyway, this is supposed to be for their enjoyment, they are all really high energy breeds and young!
I do own a coupler like your talking about, great idea! I prob should pick up a couple harnesses, I use nylon collars right now, except for my stubborn one I use a gentle leader on him
Thanks for the ideas! I tried it out today and my dogs love it! they were pulling full force ahead, so i did switch them to harnesses :)

1. I think a harness would be good. You can have the dogs run up front. (like a sled) I've never used one of those walkie-dogs simply because i would like to actually see my dog. (they run kind of behind you)
2. Any type of running on cement can start to injure joints, it's best to run on a dirt path. I used to run with my golden and i would have him run along side me with a harness. I also did roller blading and he would pull me, again with a harness.

[ Edit ] I think they are the best, they even have a harness that helps with pulling if one of the dogs need's that.(:

How much tire surface in contact with the road when I ride a bike with each tire filled to 60psi? I weigh 205?

Answer
Actually Joe is on the right path, not enough info.
You need the tire size and model, tube/ tubeless, reason, tire construction deals a lot with how it contacts the surface. The stiffer the side wall construction the more weight it can carry per psi. with less contact patch. Now add to this a tube or tubeless, a tubeless tire will have more contact area for a given psi than a tire with a tube.
One of the bike magazines a few years ago did this test when the tubeless tires were becoming more popular, it's not a cut and dry weight/psi thing.
