How many 1981 Yamaha Midnight Maxim 650s did they make?

I have one of these road bikes and was told they they only made around 500. When searching for parts and etc. it seems that this is true. Can anyone verify this for me? I have one of the first ones made since the serial # starts off with 0000....

Even if they only made 500 of them, they still wouldn't be worth much. I'd also be willing to bet that there were thousands of them made. Yamaha, just like the other Japanese manufacturers made bikes quickly, sold them cheaply, and were onto the next model so quickly that it's baffling.

Those 650s shared parts with the other lines of Yamahas at that point, so it's not just parts for the "midnight" you should be searching for. The other XJ, XV, and XS models all shared many components.

How do you think about customized bikes?

Now I begin my study,it's about the demand of Taiwanese people wants a customized bike.And I want to know how American people thinking on this issue.Then I can do some compare between American and Taiwan.

Basically they are of different physical built, so they prefer customised bikes (any nationality)

Everyone who has the budget and appreciate a customised bike thinks alike?

I found some XS model American road bike over-sized for me?
