it is a Yamaha dirt bike, 2006 ttr 125. when you push the electric start and turn the throttle it makes a ding noise like a rock is in it.

The scooter starts up fine with the kick start, but when I try the electric start, the oil light goes on, and nothing happens. The battery is new and the oil is filled up. What might be my problem?

I'm not familiar with your bike, but some scooters need the kickstand up, and/or your butt on the seat, and/or a brake lever squeezed. Engine run switch should be on. Starter fuse may be blown. Starter may be bad. Start switch may be bad. Luckily, here, the most likely causes are the cheapest and easiest to diagnose and fix...
