I ride my bike to and from school with my 8 year old everyday but I'm expecting next month. How safe is it to ride my bike again after the baby is born? I ride a crusier with a wide safe saddle and we don't ride hard. Also, I recovered very quickly with both of my children (ages 8 and 10 months) and I had them both naturally.

Answer
As long as you're not feeling any pain down there it's okay.

Will riding a bike two miles three times a week make you lose weight?

My boyfriend has knee problems from growing too fast. He's six five and over 300 pounds. Would losing weight help his knee pain and would riding a bike with me for a few miles a few mornings a week take some weight off?

Answer
riding the bike will help lose weight. as far as the knee pain goes. it's going to depend on how hard it is to pedal the bike too.if the bike has gears then he should choose one that is about as hard to pedal as the resistance would be if he was walking. too much resistance can wreck the knees.
my quess would be that he will have rear end problems after his first ride.
i ride alot when it starts to warm up after wintertime. the first few rides are the worst because of soreness. usually rear end ,knees and lower back. if he has problems just tell him to take a pain medication like Aleve and even ride when he is sore. usually after a few minutes to warm up the pain and stiffness aren't really noticeable.
maybe you already know all this because you ride a bike but i just thought i would mention it just in case.
